Rendezvous with Paola and Carlo, the chefs, at 9 o’clock in the morning at Piazza San Cosimato for a shopping trip to the market.
It’s a food tour on foot, complete with encounters with the oldest, trusted purveyors: cheese shops, spice shops, bakeries and pizza ovens in Trastevere.
Just before 10 am you arrive at the elegantly furnished apartment equipped with a professional kitchen especially outfitted for cookery courses overlooking the wonderful Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere.
Together we will prepare: extravagant starters, fresh homemade pasta with unique sauces, meat or fish with delicious side dishes, and scrumptious desserts.
Guests will be able to experience an entire meal of authentic Italian cuisine, in the bright dining hall of the cookery school with the windows facing the Basilica di Santa Maria, one of the most beautiful churches of ancient Rome.
The cookery course ends after lunch at 2.30/3pm.
The produce we choose is all fresh and seasonal, and a special Extra Virgin Olive oil PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) from Sabina has been selected for this course, as the producer is a long standing partner of BUONANOTTE GARIBALDI.

DISCOVER A DIFFERENT ROME

If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience in Rome you have to meet Chiara and Federico. They will wait for you at a specific meeting point for each tour and will show you a way to enjoy the city as a local does, following path usually not on a guide, discovering places only those who live in the city know of, listening to stories about the eternal city only a local can tell, always adding a touch of Italian food and drink to celebrate the experience. Here you can find a brief description of their tours:

Minimum booking: two persons.

Ostia Antica: the largest archaeological park in Europe. It used to be the most important harbour of Rome both on the Mediterranean sea and Tevere River, it shows how the ancient Romans lived and worked and how, as a community, spent their freetime. You can’t miss visiting a perfectly preserved Roman theatre 1800 years old, still in use during summertime. Its marvellous mosaics and frescoes decorate public spaces, private baths and common houses. And finally a 9th century Castle and its mediaeval village where we enjoy an Italian aperitif with our guests.
(Min 2 / Max 8 Pax – 3,5 hours)

Monks and Knights tour: a walk on the Aventine hill among mediaeval christian monasteries and basilicas, Knights sanctuary and a magnificent garden with a gorgeous view over the city of Rome. A tour you cannot miss because you will have the opportunity to see a special secret view of Rome, hear Monks and Knights legends and enjoy a real Italian aperitif overlooking the Circus Maximus: famous sports arena of ancient Rome.
(Min 2 / Max 8 Pax – 2,5 hours)

Gianicolo to Trastevere tour: a walk that could be called “Italy’s independence walk” as here on this hill is celebrated the long road it took Italy to gain its independence through monuments, views, balconies and a unique fountain visible from all over the city. You will “meet” the most important heroine of Italian history, enjoy a unique view over the city and a walk and the Italian aperitif in Trastevere neighbourhood: a city within a city.
(Min 2 / Max 8 Pax – 2,5 hours)

Testaccio tour: a most “diverse” walk as it embraces an egyptian-like Pyramid, a secluded garden and a small but monumental cemetery with the largest numbers of writers, poets and artists in Europe, a green hill made of “broken vases”, an amazing spot of industrial archaeology and, last but not least a typical roman food market where we will enjoy a real roman food experience.
(Min 2 / Max 6 Pax – 2,5 hours)
